The new display of the Library of the Palatinate (Pfalzbibliothek) shows in collaboration with the "Arbeitsgruppe Vermisstenforschung“ (working team of missing service men) documents and discoveries of airplane crashes in World War II.
Since 1989 the working team of the missing service men with Uwe Benkel is engaged in the history of the aerial warfare. The group collects documents and organizes recoveries. The utmost concern is searching the missing and clearing the circumstances of the crew’s death. The main focus of the display deals with the crashes in Kaiserslautern and the Palatinate.
The display will be shown until May 25. The library is open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free!

Frankenstein
The Palatinate Forest is a hiker´s paradise. With an English-speaking tour guide you will explore the sights of Diemerstein Valley near the village of Frankenstein. Frankenstein is about 10 miles away from Kaiserslautern. The approx. 2 hours tour starts from the restaurant Landgasthof Schlossberg. Visit the ruins of Diemerstein Castle and the Villa Denis. The villa was built in 1853 by railroad pioneer Paul Denis and is one of the few examples of Bavarian classicistic style.
